Cosmetic Denstistry

Cosmetic dentistry is the science of enhancing the appearance of the smile. In some cases cosmetic dentistry is completed in concert with cosmetic or plastic surgery. It encompasses many aspects of treatment including orthodontics to straighten teeth, prosthodontics to replace missing teeth and restorative dentistry to repair teeth. Cosmetic dentistry is also related to the appearance and health of the gum tissue also known as the periodontium. Some of the popular options for cosmetic enhancement include bleaching, composite bonding, implants, braces, porcelain veneers and/or crowns. Of course with dentistry functional considerations must always be taken into account along with appearances. In our practice we maintain close working relationships with specialists in all areas of dentistry and cosmetic surgery to provide the optimal treatment planning and esthetic outcomes.
