Who would ever expect to get a lollipop at the dental office? Microbiologist Wenyuan Shi tested 2,000 Chinese herbs finding one that kills bad bacteria in the mouth. The herb was placed in a lollipop because it takes five minutes to kill bacteria and it takes about ten minutes for a lollipop to melt. The frequency of use for these lollipops depends on a decay risk assessment.
